24th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Prayer for
Season of Creation
All-powerful God, you are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of your creatures.
You embrace with your tenderness all that exists. Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life and beauty.
Fill us with peace, that we live as brothers and sisters, harming no one.
O God of the poor, help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth, so precious in your eyes.
We ask this through Christ the Lord. Amen.
Laudato Si Catholic Mass

Season of Creation: Laudato Si' Movement
The Season of Creation, September 1 through October 4, unites us as a family, highlights the importance of getting to know each other, and shows our actions in favor of our common home. Every little action counts to make the river of justice and peace flow! That's why the Laudato Si' movement invites you to share with us how you are celebrating it by taking a minute to fill out this form or sharing photos and videos on your social networks. Don't forget that we have these resources available to help you organize your events and activities! Mark these on your calendar!

Pope Francis will issue a new environmental exhortation on October 4, 2023, as a follow-up to Laudato Si'.

Priests and the Right to Due Process
An essay on Priests and the Right to Due Process required by Canon Law was written by Fr Kevin McKenna, a Canon Lawyer and former Chancellor of the Diocese of Rochester. Kevin has written several books on Pastoral applications of Canon Law and has served as the President of the Canon Law Society of the United States. Please give this short essay a read as a help to better understand our rights as Priests.
The document is in the 'Mutual Support for Priests' section of the AUSCP website. You can access it HERE.
FutureChurch: Petition & Pilgrimage
Message from Deborah Rose Milavec, Co-Director of FutureChurch: As I head to Rome to cover the synod in October, we are asking Catholics to sign a petition asking Cardinal Arthur Roche at the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the USCCB Committee on Divine Worship to expand the Lectionary to include more stories of our foremothers in faith. As a first step, we are asking that the whole story of Mary Magdalene (John 20: 1-18) be proclaimed on Easter Sunday. The Canadian bishops obtained permission to do this in 1992. Here is the link to the petition: https://futurechurch.org/petition/, Please sign ASAP!
In Memoriam
AUSCP member Fr. Thomas Ogg, Diocese of Cheyenne, (Age 82), died on August 29, 2023, after a fatal injury to his head from a fall. In the Diocese of Wyoming, Fr Tom had parish assignments in Rocksprings, Glenrock, Laramie, Powell, Gillette and Sheridan. Additionally, he served as the State Vocations Director, assisting many people to discern their life’s calling. He served as the national President of the American Association of Vocation Directors in 1982.
Fr Tom was motivated to serve the World Wide Marriage Encounter program and was elected to international levels of leadership. He traveled frequently to facilitate growing this organization. His tireless farm-raised work ethic was only surpassed by his dedication and faithful service to God, his Church and his unselfish and genuine passion for helping people.

May Fr. Tom rest in God's eternal love.
