Call to Worship

  (inspired by Colossians 1:19-22)

In the face of a culture of death, a world of killing fields, a world of the walking dead,

Christ is at the head of the resurrection parade, transforming our tears of betrayal into tears of joy, givng us dancing shoes for the resurrection party.

And this glittering joker who has danced in the dragon's jaws of death now dances with a dance that is full of nothing less than the fullness of God.

This is the dance of the new creation. This is the dance of life out of death,

and in this dance all that was broken, all that was estranged, all that was alienated, all that was dislocated and disconnected is reconciled, comes home, is healed and is made whole.

A Book on Priesthood for Our time

Fr. Bob Bonnot, AUSCP Executive Director, has published a book on Priesthood: Jesus as Priest for our Time according to the Order of Melchizedek.

Some of the challenging questions discussed are:

In what sense is Jesus a priest? What is his priesthood? What does it mean for our time? What really is the role of a person baptized as a priest in Christ or ordained 'priest' in the Catholic Church? What is the value and function of an ordained priest's presence in today's Church and world?

Fr. Bob says: My approach re-roots priesthood as a way of life rather than as an institutional role. It offers an antidote to clericalism. It hopes to help restore the luster of Catholic priesthood and respect for it by grounding and profiling Jesus as priest for our time according to the order of Melchizedek.

The book is available as an e-book from Amazon. All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to AUSCP.

In Memoriam

AUSCP Founding member, Fr. Richard Creason (Age 79), Diocese of St. Louis, MO, died on March 31st. Rich was known for his witness to the love of God among those suffering from poverty and racial prejudice, especially in inner city St. Louis. He played an active role on many community advisory panels and action committees that worked for the betterment of those on the margins. He said his attraction to the AUSCP included its sense of collegiality, commitment to solidarity with the poor, and the struggle to empower people.

May Richard rest in God's eternal love.

Annual Appeal Ends April 30th

We need the support of all who believe in furthering the spirit of Vatican II and the agenda of Pope Francis. Thank you for whatever you are able to give!
